Traffic came to a halt on Highway 400 Tuesday following a collision involving a transport truck, a garbage truck, and several other vehicles, resulting in lane closures.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. near Dunlop Street and Simcoe Road 90 in Barrie. Barrie Fire crews and the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the scene.

Officials say the crash caused hazardous fluids to spill across multiple lanes of the highway. As a precaution, a hazmat team was dispatched to assist with the cleanup.

Deputy Fire Chief Eric MacFadden confirmed that there were no injuries reported in the crash.

As of OPP’s latest update, the two right lanes of the highway remain closed while crews work to clear the scene.
