Police in Collingwood are looking to identify a man after ‘an unsettling incident’ took place on a trail.
Officers were called to the trail between Fourth Street and Hume in the downtown area around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police say a young woman was approached by a man with a bike who allegedly solicited her for a sexual act.
When she refused, police say the man responded with an alleged threat to harm her. The woman was not hurt and contacted police.
The Collingwood OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Sergeant Jason Lloyd, has taken over the investigation.
The man in question is described as white, approximately 23-years-old, standing at 5 feet 9 inches, with shaggy darker hair and brown eyes.
He was spotted along the trail wearing baggy dark clothing, possibly a black top and pants, carrying a meshed black backpack while riding a black and red bicycle.
The OPP is asking anyone with information about this incident or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact the Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Police also remind the public to stay mindful of their surroundings while using trails and public spaces.
