Suspicious house fire under investigation in Muskoka Lakes

Police in Muskoka Lakes are investigating what they believe to be a suspicious fire that destroyed a home.

On Monday just before 9 a.m., Bracebridge OPP officers, along with the Muskoka Lakes Fire Department and Muskoka emergency services responded to a call from a resident indicating that their neighbor’s home was on fire.

When officials arrived at the residence on Elizabeth Street, they said the home quickly became engulfed in flames.

Responders confirmed that there were no people or pets inside the home at the time of the blaze.

Police say they are considering this fire to be suspicious, and the Muskoka Crime Unit is continuing the investigation.
