You may see increased military traffic and Canadian Army vehicles along your Highway 400 travels this weekend, here’s why.
Canadian Army Reserve personnel from the 32 Canadian Brigade Group say they will undertake convoy and supply operations alongside the Air Force, which will be conducting air movements.
The Department of National Defence says locals may see increased military traffic on their commute along Highway 400 as the military does their pre-planned travels through Toronto, North Bay and Burwash, Ont.
The convoy consists of about 100 Department of National Defence vehicles. “Participating personnel will conduct planned, and short stops throughout the duration of the exercise, stopping for rest, fuel, scheduled maintenance, and other training,” shares a Public Affair Officer of the 32 Canadian Brigade Group.
The Canadian Army Reserve says participating soldiers will not carry any weapons or ammunition.
“This training exercise ensures our readiness to respond to emergencies, such as flooding and wildfires in Canadian communities in cooperation with other domestic agencies,” says the Canadian Brigade Group.
