Sherwood Park strikes first in BCHL playoff opener

Brooks in BCHL playoff action Friday against Sherwood Park Friday night

The Brooks Bandits outshot Sherwood Park badly Friday night, but the Crusaders outscored the Bandits 3-1.

The victory gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead in their BCHL playoff series.

Stevie Grumley broke a 1-1 tie in the second period and it proved to be the game-winner for Sherwood Park.

Brooks outshot Sherwood Park 41-19 on the night, but Filip Vavro was the difference in goal for the Crusaders.

The Bandits and Crusaders go at it again Saturday night in Sherwood Park. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
