A 19-year-old is facing charges after multiple panels of glass were smashed in central Edmonton last month, including 21 panels on the funicular. The vandalism happened between Aug. 19 and 25. According to the Edmonton Police Service, glass was also smashed at MacEwan LRT Station, Central LRT Station, and ATB Place. Damage is estimated at $100,000. On Aug. 26 a man was arrested with assistance from Edmonton Transit peace officers and charged with seven counts of mischief over $5,000. Police say he was identified through security video. The 19-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 3.
