As the Edmonton region faces up to 15 to 30 cm of snow by Tuesday night, city crews are working to clear streets night and day. Graders will be clearing priority roadways on Tuesday when the snowfall is expected to be higher. “Residents and all road and active pathway users should expect challenging winter conditions on Tuesday and adjust travel plans accordingly,” said Cheryl Fereday, director of mobility infrastructure services with the City of Edmonton. “We live in a winter city and everyone plays a role in keeping our mobility network safe.” Aside from snow, temperatures will also dip to the mid-minus teens, with wind chill in the -20s. With a deep freeze in the forecast, the city is also clearing ice with priority active pathways to be cleared first. The city says it’s likely a Phase 1 parking ban will be necessary.
