Construction to bring single-lane closure to Dawson Bridge in June

Starting Monday, drivers going along Dawson Bridge will notice increased traffic as the road becomes a single-lane closure for two weeks.

The city says delays are expected during travel peak times. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead using the online Traffic Disruptions Map.

The ongoing work is to help extend the lifespan of the bridge and is expected to be done this summer, the city said in a news release.

Full closures of the roads are also scheduled:

• Overnight from May 29 at 8 p.m. to May 30 at 7 a.m.
• Overnight from June 12 at 8 p.m. to June 13 at 7 a.m.
• Throughout the weekend from June 19 at 7 p.m. to June 22 at 5 a.m.
• Throughout the weekend from June 26 at 7 p.m. to June 29 at 5 a.m.

Bus route 1A/B will be detoured when the bridge is fully closed.

The Dawson Bridge Rehabilitation Project is one of the city’s highlights in its 2026 construction plan.
