An Edmonton golf course that previously shut down for the winter months has decided to get one last round in before the snow falls. Cattail Crossing Golf Club announced on social media that it would reopen for nine holes only, weather permitting, from Saturday to the following Sunday. Director of events Brandy Cox said the late season helps make up for a wet summer. The club’s general manager confirmed 23 days of golf were missed in 2026 due to rain. “(It’s) so exciting,” Cox said. “As a golfer, you want to do this. You want to say, ‘I golfed in November.’ It’s a proud thing to say you did that.” When the club first announced it would reopen, she says phones “started ringing off the hook.” The course is booked solid Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday, with limited availability left for the other days of the week. Cattail Crossing is still open year-round, despite the course being inaccessible. The club hosts winter and charity events with the help of its on-site restaurant.
