Eggs thrown at runners during Edmonton Marathon, woman arrested: EPS

The Edmonton Marathon counted a record-setting number of runners in its 35th year.

A woman is accused of throwing eggs at runners during the Edmonton Marathon on Sunday.

Police were called to the area of Jasper Avenue and 121 Street at 8:15 a.m. with reports of a woman throwing eggs at runners.

Officers arrested a woman and charges are pending, the Edmonton Police Service said on Monday.

No injuries were reported.
