It’s nacho average story down at Rogers Place these days. Edmonton’s major event arena is rolling out what it calls the largest menu refresh in its 10-year history, with 82 new food items set to debut this fall as the Oilers, Oil Kings and a full slate of concerts return to the downtown venue. Arena-goers can expect new creations, the return of familiar favourites and exclusive souvenirs such as beer sticks and popcorn buckets. Remember the Perogy Dog, PB&J Boneless Wings, YEG Nacho Grande in a Helmet, the Bison Burger and soft-serve ice cream? They’re all coming back, alongside the $10 Decade Deal Menu. Sharnell Hordo, the Oilers Entertainment Group’s vice-president of hospitality, said Monday the company “understands that value is very important to our fans,” highlighting the $10 menu and adding that prices for beer and other items will be the same at the arena this hockey season. “When you’re coming to Rogers Place, you’re not seeing an increase of prices across the board,” Hordo told reporters at a menu rollout event for media. “You’re actually seeing more value items added to the menu.” Of the 82 new items at Rogers Place, 26 of them will be available at concession stands, Hordo said, adding all of the new creations can be found at Studio 99 and in premium spaces. People can also expect to see more ways to get their hands on menu items, including at AI-powered self-checkouts, through mobile ordering on the Rogers Place and Oilers apps building-wide and via new grab-and-go self-serve stations on the concourse.
