It’s not the set-up for a joke, however what do you get when you pin actors portraying fictional hockey players against a lineup of Oilers alumni – you get the Shoresy Classic matchup at Rogers Place. The cast from the hit TV series Shoresy will be lacing up against a lineup of former Edmonton Oilers to raise money for a good cause. • Download the CTV News App for breaking news alerts on all the top Edmonton stories Fans can expect to see a roster of fan favourites participating in the Shoresy Classic including Georges Laraque, Aleš Hemský and Raffi Torres. They will compete against Jared Keeso, creator and star of Shoresy, Terry Ryan, Jonathan Diaby and Andrew Ansanen, who play Hitch, JoDolo and Goody, respectively. A portion of the proceeds will be going toward the Every Kid Deserves a Shot charity helmed by the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation. Players representing the Edmonton Oilers Alumni team are: Opposite of the Oilers, Team Shoresy will be represented by: Jeff Deslauriers will be in net for the Oilers Alumni team and Ben Scrivens will be loaned to the Shoresy team for the game. Tickets are limited, but available through the Shoresy Classic website. Two more charity games are scheduled for the gang, as they will be playing former Calgary Flames on Jan. 22 and playing in Vancouver against Canucks alumni on Jan. 26. The Shoresy Classic will be heading to Rogers Place Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. Shoresy is currently streaming on Crave and Hulu.
