Exclusive promotions, special menus and a discounted shopping experience is taking over downtown St. Albert as the first day of Dine and Shop Week kicks off. • The information you need to know, sent directly to you: Download the CTV News App Alena Brown, the vice-president of the Downtown Business Association, spoke to CTV News Edmonton about what shoppers can expect when coming to Perron Street in St. Albert. “(It’s) a way for some of the downtown businesses to showcase some of their featured specials,” Brown said Monday. “We really want people to come down and see the businesses that are downtown.” Downtown Dine and Shop Week is the first event put on by St. Albert’s Downtown Business Association. “We’ve come together (and) tried to look at what kind of things could bring more people downtown … As it stands right now, downtown St. Albert isn’t as lively as we’d like it to be, so we want to share the really awesome businesses that are downtown here,” said Brown. The organization is hoping to have a summer and a winter event in the near future, with long-term goals of turning downtown St. Albert into a lively entertainment district.
