An Alberta mountie shot a suspect during a domestic call early Wednesday morning. RCMP say the “domestic situation involving a weapon” in the northern community of Fox Creek was reported around 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Police say they tried to get the man to surrender multiple times throughout the night. “However, at 5:18 a.m., there was a confrontation with the suspect which resulted in an officer discharging their service firearm, striking the suspect,” Alberta RCMP said in a statement on Wednesday. Police on scene delivered emergency care until Stars Air Ambulance took him to hospital. No one else was injured. A shelter-in-place order was issued for Fox Creek residents on 5A Street between 7 Avenue and 8 Avenue around 5:30 a.m. for 30 minutes. The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) will investigate as it does in all cases of serious harm or death caused by police in Alberta. It is investigating another police shooting in northern Alberta on Tuesday. Fox Creek is located about 260 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
