Mounties in Clairmont, Alta., believe two people driving a stolen car involved in a highway crash were picked up after fleeing the scene on foot. RCMP were called to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 43, near Range Road 23, around 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Two people got out of one of the vehicles and fled on foot, according to a news release. They were driving a stolen vehicle. Police dogs and officers attempted to track the suspects but couldn’t find them. Mounties now believe the two were picked up shortly after they left the scene. The stolen vehicle was recovered, and there were only minor injuries in the crash. The stretch of highway closed for the investigation, which is ongoing, was reopened Friday evening.
