Plans are underway to rebuild the Army, Navy & Air Force Club Unit 341, one year after a fire destroyed the Brantford facility. The devastating fire happened in October 2024, leaving nothing but rubble behind according to club president Logan Webb. “Our membership is still reeling with the reality of the situation,” said Webb. No injuries were reported during the fire, but the building and decades worth of memorabilia was destroyed. Only a few items were recovered in the days after the fire. Webb hopes the community will consider donating to replace what was lost once the new facility is built. “65 years worth of history is incredibly hard to replace but we’re very grateful for anyone who can help,” said Webb. Plans are underway to rebuild a new club on the existing location. “We’re in the full process right now to rebuild a fully restored facility here, right on our property at 645 Colbourne,” said Webb. The team at the club is aiming to break ground at the new facility in the next year. “We’re still going to need the community to rally behind us with fundraising efforts just for volunteering efforts to make sure that we can come back to the community,” said Webb. The club is staying focused on the future and maintaining memberships while the process of rebuilding gets underway.
