A 34-year-old man has been charged with break-ins at three Waterloo businesses.

The first happened around 3 a.m. on March 18. Waterloo Regional Police said a man pried open the rear door of an Albert Street business and stole computer equipment.

The same location was targeted again on Saturday at around 8:30 a.m. Police determined the same suspect was responsible for both incidents.

Then, on March 24, an officer on patrol in Waterloo saw the suspected thief walking on Regina Street North near Hickory Street East and arrested him. Police said they confiscated multiple computers and accessories, a slingshot, three crowbars, wire cutters and box cutters from the man.

After further investigation, police tied the man to another break-in at a Phillip Street business on Saturday. Officers found a stolen computer in the man’s possession when they arrested him.

The man was charged with three counts of break and enter to commit an indictable offence, possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of break-in tools and six counts of breach of probation.
