Crews were making repairs in downtown Kitchener on Friday morning after a watermain break flooded King Street. As of 10 a.m., the road was closed between Frederick Street and Scott Street. The City of Kitchener asked anyone planning to attend the kickoff of Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest to avoid the area. “We suggest adding extra time to your commute or plan an alternative route,” the city said. “The closure is anticipated to continue into the evening,” More to come.
