A masterclass from the men between the pipes led to a low scoring affair between the Guelph Storm and Owen Sound Attack, eventually settled by the former, winning 2-1 in overtime. The first period produced a zero from both sides, with Guelph’s Zach Jovanovski and Owen Sound’s Ryerson Leenders keeping their sheets clean heading into the second frame. Harry Nansi was the man to break the deadlock, scoring for the Attack only 55 seconds into the second period. The Storm would head into the third down 1-0. A scoreless first 58:21 minutes of the game wasn’t enough to get the job done, with Guelph tying the game through an Ethan Czata effort. No one could find a winner through regulation, taking the game to overtime. After close to three minutes of overtime, Guelph’s Grant Spada buried the game-winner. The 2-1 win marks the 14th of the campaign for the storm, who sit atop of the OHL Western Conference standing on 28 points. The Storm will stay on home ice for a Saturday afternoon tilt against the North Bay Battalion at 4:07 p.m.
