Construction is underway on Highbury Avenue South in London, as a major section of the roadway is set to undergo a year-long rehabilitation. Lane reductions are in place on the freeway section of Highbury Avenue between Hamilton Road and Bradley Avenue and are expected to remain until next spring. Drivers can expect lane reductions and times during the construction period when exit ramps will be closed. The rehabilitation project is expected to last until spring 2027. The city says the work is necessary to rehabilitate the Commissioners Road and Bradley Avenue overpasses. The project also involves the full reconstruction of the roadway, addition of shoulders, resurfacing on and off ramps, upgrading street lighting and traffic signals, and making improvements to stormwater infrastructure, according to the city. Transit users are advised to visit the LTC website for service updates. With files from CTV News London’s Ashley Hyshka
