A 29-year-old Barrie man was allegedly driving more than twice the speed limit on a rural road in Innisfil. South Simcoe police say on Friday morning at around 9:15, they pulled over a driver who was going 108 kilometres per hour in a 50 zone on the 10th Line. According to police, the driver told officers he was late for work. The man faces multiple charges including stunt driving, speeding and impaired driving. Also on Friday morning, police say they pulled over a vehicle where the driver allegedly had an open container of liquor and was operating the vehicle without a valid licence. The driver— a 56-year-old man from Waubaushene—was arrested and charged with two counts of impaired driving.
