London Minor Football names MVP trophy after Chase and Sydney Brown

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the London Minor Football Association (LMFA) will have their named etched on a trophy now bearing the names of the LMFA’s most notable alumni.

Sunday morning, Chase and Sydney Brown were surprised to learn of the recognition prior to hosting a three-hour football camp in their hometown.

“We are becoming more community based and we’re celebrating our community and our special players that have played in the league before,” said Stiles, LMFA’s operations manager. “Chase and Sydney got their start with us and we thought, hey, there’s no better way to celebrate this new trophy by naming it after two of our most famous athletes.”

Chase Brown (Cincinnati Bengals) and Sydney Brown (Atlanta Falcons) got their start with the LMFA’s Rams team.

“It’s a real honour,” Chase told Stiles after posing for a photo.

The twins flew up from Atlanta, GA., where they have been training for the upcoming season and helped with a camp run by FlexWork Sports Management.

The local sports heroes posed for photos and coached teams of kids in seven-on-seven games at City Wide Field in London, Ont.

“These guys are the best of the best,” added Stiles. “We’ve had a lot of great players come through, but these guys are the best and the way they give back to the community is second to none.”

This is the second camp the two have been involved in this summer. The first was at Western University with the London Jr. Mustangs program.

“It’s always nice coming back and being able to show face in the community and just feed off the energy from the kids,” said Chase.

The two planned on spending the remainder of the day with family, before heading back to Atlanta Monday.
