Man, 20, charged with second-degree murder after victim found dead in Montreal apartment

A 20-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a man in his 60s in Montreal’s Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie borough earlier this week.

Montreal police received a 911 call at 10 p.m. Tuesday night and responded to an address on Masson Street near 4e Avenue.

Police said when they arrived, they found the man unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lucas Choquette allegedly killed Marc-Antoine Choquette on March 9, according to a charge sheet. He lives on the same street where the killing took place.

The killing was the fourth homicide this year in Montreal and one of two homicides this week alone. On Thursday morning, a man in his 50s was fatally stabbed inside a depanneur near the Laurier Metro station.
