A man was shot inside a restaurant during dinner hour in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, in the Montérégie region west of Montreal. Emergency services were dispatched to the restaurant on Alexandre Street on Friday evening around 6:30 p.m. “One person was injured before the suspect or suspects fled the scene. Reports indicate that a man in his 20s sustained serious injuries. He was transported to a hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead,” said Sergeant Béatrice Dorsainville, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). It was not immediately clear whether the victim was known to law enforcement. A security perimeter was established around the crime scene, and forensic technicians were dispatched to the scene.
