The Festival International Nuits d’Afrique has unveiled the full line-up for its 40th anniversary edition. The festival is best known for keeping “Montreal’s heart beating in time with Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America.” “It’s been a musical odyssey that has continued to grow, driven by the passion of our artists and the unwavering loyalty of our audience,” the festival states. Some of the acts being spotlighted include Grammy Award-winning Malian singer and women’s rights advocate Oumou Sangaré, La Guinée rend hommage au Baobab de Nuit de Montréal and Algerian musical group Labess. The Festival International Nuits d’Afrique is on from July 7 to 19, celebrating “decades of music, dance and wonderful shared moments.” Free outdoor activities are also planned from July 14 to 19.
