Ontario does have a new millionaire after Friday night’s historic $75 million Lotto Max draw – but they only won $1 million. The record-breaking jackpot was not won on Sept. 13 meaning the prize money will roll over into Tuesday's draw.

Friday's draw marked the first time the Lotto Max jackpot has climbed to $75 million, following the recent increase in the jackpot cap to $80 million – the highest possible jackpot ever available to Canadian players.
“From one record to another record – for the first time ever in Canadian lottery history, the Lotto Max jackpot has now grown to its new maximum amount of $80 million,” said Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) spokesperson Tony Bitonti in an email to CTV News.
Next Tuesday’s historic Lotto Max draw will also include an estimated 18 $1 million prizes with Maxmillions.

Ontario still saw big winners on Friday
“While the ‘old’ record jackpot of $75 million was not won, there are many, many Lotto Max ticket holders across Ontario that are getting some life-changing news,” said Tony Bitonti.

Friday’s draw saw seven Ontario residents win $100,000 or more with Lotto Max.
A single $1 million Maxmillions ticket was sold in Ottawa, two second prize tickets worth more than $285,447 were sold in Milton and Northumberland County and four Encore tickets worth $100,000 each were sold in London, Unionville, Simcoe County and the Timiskaming-Cochrane area.
A $70 million Lotto Max ticket was also sold in Timiskaming-Cochrane area last month and won by a young family from Iroquois Falls.

Players can check their tickets with the OLG App or at most OLG retailers.
