A 31-year-old commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driver from Timmins is facing charges following a traffic stop by provincial police on Thursday.

On Jan. 18, South Porcupine OPP stopped a commercial motor vehicle on Highway 101 in Taylor Township in Matheson after their automated licence plate recognition system (ALPR) alerted them of a possible suspended driver, police said on social media.
The driver has been charged with driving while suspended.
“The CMV was removed by a licenced driver,” said police.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
This comes on the heels of several crashes involving CMVs on northern Ontario highways.
