A 17-year-old is facing charges including assault with a weapon and administering a noxious thing following an incident involving a group of youth earlier this week. Police in Sault Ste. Marie say the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on July 7 in the 500 block of Goulais Avenue. Officers were dispatched to the scene after 911 operators received a report of a disturbance. Investigation details “An investigation revealed the accused verbally threatened to harm a group of victims, sprayed multiple victims with bear mace and threw rocks at them,” the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said in a news release. “The victims and accused are known to one another.” Police said no physical injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Multiple charges On July 10, officers located the accused and took them into custody. The youth has been charged with administering a noxious thing, two counts of assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and two counts of breaching recognizance. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
