Cold temperatures, risk of flurries on Monday in Ottawa

It’s a cold start to the work week in Ottawa, with below-seasonal temperatures expected over the next two days.

The temperature was -3 C at 6 a.m., six degrees colder than normal temperatures for this time of year.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a mainly cloudy day with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. High 3 C.

It will be clear tonight. Low -5 C with the wind chill making it feel like -8.

Tuesday will begin with a mix of sun and cloud before it becomes cloudy near noon. There is a 40 per cent chance of light snow Tuesday afternoon. High 6 C.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected on Wednesday. High 14 C.

The outlook for Thursday calls for a mix of sun and cloud. High 16 C.

Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers. High 16 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 13 C and a low of 3 C.

Rainy April

Ottawa has received more than 90 mm of rain so far in April, including 63 mm of rain since April 12.

Last April, Ottawa received 82.2 mm of rain and 18.4 cm of snow.
