A frustrated customer walked behind the counter at a McDonald’s restaurant in western Quebec, pushed an employee and poured himself a coffee, according to police. Officers with the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police responded to a call at approximately 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at a McDonald’s in Chelsea, Que. Police say the incident began when a woman approached the counter asking for a coffee but left without getting a cup due to the lineup. “A few moments later, a man appeared at the counter, verbally abusing the cashier and stating that his partner only wanted a coffee,” police said in a post in French on Facebook. “Aggressive, he approached the counter, pushed the cashier, and directly went to the coffee dispenser. He got a coffee and left through the door reserved for employees.” The man and the woman left the restaurant together in a vehicle, according to police. The investigation revealed the man and the woman were former employees at a McDonald’s restaurant in Gatineau. Police say no charges will be laid in connection with the shoving of the employee or the coffee theft at the “wishes of the complainants.” “However, we strongly condemn any gesture of violence and incivility that could affect employees working in the fast-food industry, as well as any other person working with the public,” police said.
