Saskatoon woman facing arson charge in connection to auto dealership fire

Saskatoon police have charged a woman in connection to an arson at an auto dealership earlier this year.

A 41-year-old woman is facing charges in connection with an arson at a Saskatoon auto dealership earlier this year.

In the early hours of March 25, emergency crews were called to Daou Auto on Avenue F South, where they found smoke and flames coming from the building, with multiple vehicles on fire.

Police later determined the blaze had been intentionally set. However, investigators now say the fire was not specifically targeted at that business.

Following a more than month-long investigation, police arrested the woman on Monday in a parking lot at 25th Street East and 3rd Avenue North.

She has been charged with arson with disregard for human life.

Police also say a separate fire at the dealership in December was investigated but did not result in charges due to insufficient evidence. That file has now been closed unless new information emerges.
