A Toronto jeweller accused of helping launder hundreds of millions of dollars for an alleged drug trafficking ring led by a former Olympic snowboarder will not fight extradition. Rolan Sokolovski appeared in court on Tuesday where he formally consented to his extradition to the U.S., his lawyer confirmed to CTV News. Under the extradition act, the federal minister of justice will now have to issue a formal surrender order. Sokolovski would be surrendered to U.S. authorities within 45 days of that order being issued. “It should be noted that consenting to extradition is neither an admission of wrongdoing nor an acknowledgement of the strength of the case against him,” Sokolovski’s lawyer Scott Fenton told CTV News. “He is presumed innocent and intends to contest the allegations in the California courts.” The U.S. Department of Justice has previously said that Sokolovski served as a “de facto bank” for Wedding’s alleged criminal enterprise. They say that Sokolovski laundered funds through his jewelry business, 2351885 Ontario Inc., which operates under the name “Diamond Tsar” and has a storefront in downtown Toronto. Sokolovski has been in custody since his arrest in November 2025. He was denied bail in February.
