2 arrested after arson, shooting at northern B.C. nightclub

Police say they arrested two suspects after a nightclub in northeastern B.C. was shot at and burned early Friday morning.

The Fort St. John RCMP says officers were called to investigate a suspicious fire at the establishment near 100^th Avenue and 103^rd Street around 5:45 a.m., which had already been extinguished by firefighters.

“Members processed the crime scene and found evidence of both arson and gunfire directed at the building,” Mounties wrote in a statement.

“No injuries occurred during what is believed to be an isolated incident.”

Later the same morning, police arrested two suspects “without incident” at a home in neighbouring municipality Taylor, the detachment said.

Both suspects remain in custody and the residence is being held for a search warrant, according to police.
