15-year-old boy charged in child exploitation, sextortion investigation: WPS

Windsor police have charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with a child exploitation and sextortion investigation that officers said involved a 13-year-old victim.

In January 2026, an investigation was launched after a report was made of online sexual exploitation and sextortion involving a young girl.

Investigators said the teen boy got intimate images from the girl, then using them to threaten and extort the victim through social media messages. Police deemed the pictures child sexual abuse material.

After an investigation, the suspect was charged at an east Windsor home on Wednesday.

The teen is facing charges of:

• Extortion
• Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• Accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• Publishing intimate images without consent

“Windsor police remind the community to avoid sharing intimate photos and videos online. Possessing and sharing intimate imagery involving anyone under the age of 18 years old will likely result in criminal charges related to child sexual abuse and exploitation,” police wrote in a statement online.

“Anyone experiencing threats, coercion, or exploitation online is encouraged to seek help from a trusted adult or report the incident to police.”
