‘I was in total shock’: Windsor couple wins $1 million in Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball draw

A Windsor couple says they plan on buying a new house and car after winning $1 million.

Nancy and Benoit L. won a Lotto 6/49 prize worth $1 million in the Gold Ball Draw on April 11, 2026.

The parents of two boys were at home when Nancy checked their ticket on the OLG app.

“I was in total shock,” she said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I asked Benoit to verify what I was seeing, and he replied, ‘You won $1,000!’ When I told him to count the zeros, he asked, ‘Is this real? Are you playing a prank on me?’”

The couple said this win couldn’t have come at a better time, and their top priority is to support their sons. They plan to use their winnings to buy a new home and car.

The winning ticket was purchased at Real Canadian Superstore on Dougall Avenue in Windsor.
