Police warn of ‘slick’ roads after crash in Amherstburg

Drivers learned the hard way that roads were slippery, especially in Amherstburg on Tuesday morning. CTV Windsor’s Bob Bellacicco has more.

Windsor police are warning drivers about slick roads after at least one car ended up in the ditch in Amherstburg.

Emergency crews responded to the corner of Alma and Concession 5 North on Tuesday morning.

The drivers appeared to have hit a patch of ice built up on Concession 5 N and slid through the stop sign into a deep ditch.

Police posted on social media to avoid Alma Street due to icy conditions.

“Roads are very slick—use an alternate route and drive safely,” said the post.

No injuries were reported on site. More to come.
