Freezing rain creating slippery conditions in parts of Manitoba

It will be a slippery end to the week for much of southeast Manitoba as freezing rain touches down in the area.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a yellow warning – freezing rain for several Manitoba communities, including Winnipeg and Steinbach.

The weather agency notes a band of freezing rain developed in the early morning hours on Friday and is expected to clear up later in the morning.

ECCC warns that freezing rain will likely create slippery conditions on roads and walkways, adding that there may be a “significant impact” to rush hour traffic.
