2021 Federal Election

Morantz won re-election narrowly in 2021, finishing with 460 more votes than Eyolfson. He has represented the riding since 2019.

History

The riding has gone through several name changes since its creation in 1996. It has been known as Charleswood—Assiniboine, Charleswood—St. James—Assiniboia, Charleswood—St. James, and Charleswood—St. James—Assiniboia—Headingley. It has switched between Liberal and Conservative support throughout its history.

Boundaries

The riding includes the Winnipeg neighbourhoods of Charleswood and St. James, and Headingley. The RM of Rosser was added to the riding following a boundary redistribution.

Demographics

The riding has a population of 84,767, according to the 2021 census. It grew 2.7 per cent from the 2016 census.
