Halifax firefighters responded to a fire in a two-storey multi-residential building on Oxford Street, with an individual reportedly trapped inside the building Friday night. The Halifax Professional Firefighters Association wrote in a social media post that firefighters from Station 2 arrived at the scene around 10:52 p.m. “The individual who had been reported trapped had jumped from a second-floor window prior to our members’ arrival,” the post reads. The association says the fire was contained and brought under control within minutes. An investigation remains ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
