Police say a loaded firearm was found in a man’s vehicle during a traffic stop outside St. Stephen, N.B., last week. The RCMP received a report stating a man left a property in a vehicle after an altercation just after 10 p.m. Friday. “The man was believed to be intoxicated and was reportedly in possession of a registered handgun,” reads a news release from the force. Police arrested a 66-year-old man from St. Stephen on Highway 3 near Brockway shortly after. The vehicle was searched and police say they seized a loaded, unsecured firearm and ammunition. The man reportedly failed a roadside test. He was then taken to the St. Stephen RCMP detachment for a breathalyser test.
