Saint John police seize near $94K worth of suspected fentanyl, crystal meth

Police in Saint John made arrests in a drug trafficking investigation and seized nearly $93,520 worth of suspected drugs, according to a news release.

On Monday, around 2 p.m., a 37-year-old woman, a 47-year-old man, a 40-year-old man, and a 48-year-old woman were arrested from a vehicle.

Police say after the arrests they seized the following:

• 116 grams of a substance believed to be raw fentanyl
• 12 grams of a substance believed to be crystal meth
• a cell phone
• digital scales
• pliers
• ASP baton
• several knives

“The 37-year-old female was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl and possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine,” reads the news release.

She attended provincial court Tuesday and was remanded into custody. She’s set to appear in court again on Thursday for a bail hearing.

The three others were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, according to police.
