The RCMP has released the name of a man found dead in Shenstone, N.B., two weeks ago and says investigators are treating his death as a homicide. Police responded to a report of a sudden death at a home on Route 910 around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 4. When officers arrived, they found the body of a 57-year-old man at the scene. At the time, they said they were treating his death as suspicious. The RCMP released an update on the case Wednesday, confirming the man was the victim of a homicide. Police have now identified him as Michael Eric Claude Steeves. Meanwhile, investigators are looking to speak with two drivers who were in the area of Route 910 the evening of Aug. 2 and into the early morning hours of Aug. 3. The first is a male who stopped and spoke to a person who was walking in the Shenstone and Hillsborough areas. The second is a woman who may have provided transportation to a person, either on Route 910 between Shenstone and Hillsborough, or on Main Street in Hillsborough. Police are asking anyone who was in the area at the time, or has information about the case, to contact the New Brunswick RCMP Major Crime Unit at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267) or by email at jdiv.mcu@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
