A Halifax-based charity is hosting a fundraiser for Hope Blooms next month. Lori Coughlin is the president of the Canadian Progress Club Halifax Citadel and says they hold a Girls Night Out event every year. “It’s a night of entertainment with a theme of garden party,” Coughlin said. “We fundraise for our charity of choice.” This year, the charity under the spotlight is Hope Blooms, which looks to make long-term impacts in Halifax with food security, education and social inclusion. “We gave out 28,000 pounds of food this year and served over 25,000 meals to the community,” said Natasha Jollymore, director of Hope Blooms. “The money raised for Girls Night Out will have a huge impact.
