A man has been arrested for impaired driving after a single-vehicle crash in Waverley, N.S., according to the RCMP. Police responded to a report of a crash in the 2000 block of Waverley Road around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. According to a news release Wednesday, a truck left the road and the driver fled the scene on foot. Responding officers found the vehicle in a ditch and found empty alcohol containers inside. “While officers were on scene, a man approached them and indicated that he was the driver and was not injured,” said the RCMP. “An officer observed signs of impairment and obtained a roadside breath sample from the man, which, resulted in a fail.” Police say the driver, a 23-year-old Waverley man, was arrested for impaired driving and provided two breath samples, each registering 160 mg%.
