There is a new job on the market: International Ice Cream Taster. And the hiring manager? Iconic American rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg. In a video posted to his social channels on Aug. 27, Calvin Broadus Jr., the rapper known more widely as Snoop Dogg, announced the search, saying “I’m hiring an international ice cream taster at Dr. Bombay.” Snoop Dogg’s ice cream company, Dr. Bombay, which he launched in partnership with his son in 2023, has partnered with HR company Deel to hire someone who can “chill worldwide.” Are you qualified? Well, according to Snoop, you just need a valid passport and to be “detail-oriented.” The posting also says that you can be located anywhere in the world. The one-of-a-kind job is fully remote and pays a whopping $10,000 per month. It is unclear what currency that figure is in, though Dr. Bombay’s headquarters is in Los Angeles. “We need help finding new flavours,” says the video posted to Snoop Dogg’s socials. According to Deel’s website, “This isn’t a publicity stunt dressed up as a job posting - it’s a real position with real compensation ($10K a month).” The online job application has applicants share links to their social channels as well as answer questions such as: More than 200,000 people have applied worldwide, according to social posts from Deel and Dr. Bombay. Posts across platforms show applicant-made creative videos explaining why they are the ideal candidate for the role. Deel has reposted several creators’ videos pitching themselves for the job via all kinds of methods from raps to actual taste test auditions. The link to apply has been posted to LinkedIn and other social platforms for worldwide applicants to take their shot.
