By the time he was three-years-old, Peining He had an impressive art portfolio. His passion is cars both new and old. It doesn’t take long for him to see one and bring it to life. “I like the shape of the design, the speed, the power…I learn lots of history and stories about each car and each owner. Every car has a story,” says He. The 22-year-old artist made headlines far before he moved to Canada from Beijing. His work was featured on Chinese television programs, newspapers, and still lives in many Chinese exhibits. “My parents really supported me so much. They found my interest in drawing cars so they gave me all the materials, took me to every car show…all the museums,” he says. Some of his latest pieces are now on display at the Steele Wheels Motor Museum. “I was wowed from the moment he walked through the door and showed me the work that he had done. To see our cars come to life the way he was able to capture it is really extraordinary,” says Jennifer Holm, the operations manager. For He, art isn’t just a hobby.
