The Nova Scotia Voice of Women for Peace has unveiled an exhibit memorializing the atomic bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima during the Second World War. “Remembering Hiroshima: 80 Years of Disarmament Day,” which marks the 80th anniversary of the bombing in Japan, launched at Halifax City Hall on Wednesday. It features 30 posters from the Hiroshima Memorial Museum. “Our shared humanity and concern for each other, and the devastation, might be what people walk away with,” said Kathrin Winkler with the Nova Scotia Voice of Women for Peace. “There are no solutions through destruction. Solutions come from being good neighbours. “The most important thing about this commemoration is the determination needed for never again.” The exhibit, which will tour across Canada, will be on display at city hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
