It’s been 15 years since a Nova Scotia man was shot and killed and police are still searching for information. On Oct. 25, 2011, RCMP said Edward William Phalen, 44, was shot outside his home on Mechanic St. in Trenton, N.S. According to police, Phalen had left his home around 7:45 p.m. to go to a nearby convenience store. When he arrived home, he was shot and killed by a person or people who were waiting for him. “Police believe there are people who have information that could result in an arrest and charges,” RCMP said in a news release Sunday. Phalen’s wife and children were inside the home at the time of shooting. The Nova Scotia Department of Justice is offering rewards up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Phalen’s death. Police ask anyone with information to contact the Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit at 902-896-5070 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
