With Election Day approaching on Monday, the City of Barrie is reminding residents to have their say and vote. As of 10:03 a.m. Sunday, the city staff say there’s been a 16.98 per cent voter turnout. City officials say residents should have received a voter information letter in the mail with details on how to vote online or by phone. The letter has a voting personal identification number (PIN), which allows you to submit your ballot. Online Voting There is a website provided that you navigate to where you enter your PIN and credentials, which will lead to the website prompting you to make your choices for your preferred mayoral candidate, councillor candidate and school board trustee. Phone Voting Residents can call the phone number in the letter, dial the PIN and credentials when prompted and listen for the prompts before making your choice. Select the pound (#) key after making each selection. Residents have until Monday at 8 p.m. to cast their vote. If you have lost your voter information letter or don’t have your PIN or need assistance, you can call 705-728-VOTE or email be.counted@barrie.ca for help.
