A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital after being struck by a car while riding a bicycle Tuesday night. Barrie police say the call came in around 8:15 p.m. for the crash on Essa between Burton and Gowan Street. The man was travelling southeast on Essa when he was struck, police said. He was transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The area was closed while officers investigated and reopened shortly afterward. No further details were released by police.
